Cape Cod Wellness Raw Food Meetup to host potluck and film on Friday, January 29, 2016
PlantPure Nation tells the story of three people on a quest to spread the word of the overwhelming benefits of a plant-based diet. After renowned nutritional scientist and bestselling author Dr. T. Colin Campbell gives a stirring speech advocating support for plant-based nutrition on the floor of the Kentucky House of Representatives, his son Nelson and Kentucky State Rep Tom Riner work together to propose a pilot program. Agribusiness lobbyists quickly descend on the legislature and manage to kill the legislation in committee. Undeterred, Nelson goes on to develop his own pilot project in his hometown of Mebane, North Carolina.
Find out why agribusiness is so scared of the “inconvenient” truth about plant-based diet. Learn about how this style of nutrition would impact the small family farmer, food “deserts” and modern medicine. See first-hand the challenges of getting support for plant-based nutrition included in the political process. And be inspired to join the team advocating for change!
The film will be shown at 7 pm on Friday, January 29 at Path to Vibrant Health, 4 Fort Hill Road (corner of 6A) in East Sandwich. It will be preceded by an optional 6 pm potluck of plant-based and organic (when possible) dishes. (If you plan to attend the potluck, please bring a dish.) The fee is $10 and reservations are suggested as seating is limited. For reservations, visit www.meetup.com/Cape-Cod-Wellness-Raw-Food-Meetup.
This event is open to the public and sponsored by Cape Cod Wellness Raw Food Meetup. For more information call 508 888-6677 or email dorothy.torrey@gmail.com.
